IB Global Politics - Defining Peace, Conflict and Violence

A simple PowerPoint presentation that asks students to work in groups to define the key terms of Peace, Conflict and Violence. These definitions are then debriefed with the teacher as a class. Students then move on to learn the difference between negative and positive peace and apply what they have learned to 3 case studies, briefly detailed on the slides with photos. Students are then asked to choose one of the 3 case studies and do a short written task describing whether it is an example of negative or positive peace.
