A lesson designed for KS3 but can also be used with any year group looking at the impacts deforestation causes. The lesson includes an estimation task regarding how much rainforest will be lost by the end of the lesson, the impacts of deforestation and students explaining which impact they think is the greatest through their own opinions. This lesson includes a PowerPoint presentation, carousel information sheets and success criteria to track progress within the lesson, identify strengths and areas of improvement. This lesson links with the EdExcel 1-9 GCSE - Ecosystems, Biodiversity and Management topic.
Please clarify how this lesson is 'very basic'? The lesson includes a range of impacts of deforestation, rather than the 'basic' CO2 increase in the atmosphere. There are clear explanations of each of the impacts, again, unsure how this can be classed as 'little information' and I have never had a class evaluate this lesson as 'not engaging'. I would advise asking a member of staff observe one of your lessons to see how the pitch and pace of your delivery is causing your students to become 'disengaged' within the lesson. Or you could always just produce the materials for yourself, that could solve the 'problems' you are facing. However, thanks for the feedback, always appreciated!
