This resource contains 4 investigations of the Index Laws:
- Multiplying
- Dividing
- Brackets (raising a power to a power)
- Power of 0
This is a great resources for students to understand indices and the laws rather than just memorise them. I use it with my year 8s but it could be used in Years 7-9.
I get students to complete investigation 1, then do practice questions, then investigation 2, etc.
Included in the file is TYPED ANSWERS to have printed in a folder for students to check their own or to put on the screen and go through as a class.
In future I hope to add:
Negative powers and fractional indices.
