India Self Learning Book

The Self Learning Book is designed for the purpose for the students to use the internet as a research tool; and learn about the title topic.
Parents/teachers can guide the student and/or help as they see fit.
To ease the workload the crossword answers and a few research notes are included.
This resource is designed as a research activity: which generates discussion, rather that simply right and wrong answers.
Task 1. Colour the flag on the front cover. (Students have to find the correct colours for the flag.)
Task 2. Discover some basic facts about India. (Students find the information asked for.)
Task 3. Research about some Indian festivals. (Students find what the Indian festivals celebrate.)
Task 4. Label the map of India. (Students find where the given places are.)
Task 5. Find out about Mahatma Gandhi. (Students research Mahatma Gandhi.)
Task 6. Read about Manu and the little fish. (Students read the given passage.)
Task 7. Crossword. (Students solve the Crossword.)
Task 8. Jigsaw. (Students cut out the jigsaw of a map of India, paste the solution on the following page.)
Task 9. Cloze Reading. (Students fill in the blanks with the words supplied.)***
