Joke of the day, Fact of the day and Quote of the week

KS2 appropriate collection of jokes, facts and quotes. I have one of each on the whiteboard at the start of the day, and the children love them.
It gets them reading the moment they enter the classroom. They start the day with a smile, and often some children have to explain the joke to those who haven’t got it.
It is the perfect way to introduce a bit of daily general knowledge as there are always discussion points.
I often put in deliberate spelling or grammar errors and the children race each other to spot them and correct them.
I generally use a fact and joke daily, and repeat the same quote for the week, so that it has time to resonate and children can reflect on the message properly.
