1. Adapted Novel. The adapted novel is 6 chapters long. Each chapter has a repeated line main idea at the bottom of the page and the book includes a table of contents, characters page, and settings page.
2. Communication Boards. A communication board accompanies each chapter with functional and academic words to meet the needs of most students in a special education class. There are three versions of the communication boards: one with words and pictures, one with pictures only and one with words only. This unit contains 18 communication boards in all with 96 unique vocabulary words.
3. Comprehension Questions: Each chapter comes with 10 comprehension questions with picture supports. This unit contains 60 picture supported comprehension questions, along with an answer key for each chapter. There is also a 2-page Worksheet version with each chapter for students without the need for visual supports.
Please note: This printable also comes with a white background version for ink conservation if needed.
