This notebook is based on the story Kensuke's Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo. Children get the opportunity to complete some creative writing as if they were Michael on the boat and writing a ship's log entry. The slides include a WAGOLL model (about a whale breaching with a link to a youtube clip to show children what this is!) to examine for features and success criteria for support. At the end there is another lesson which has editing stations so they can revise and edit their work.
