Key Stage 3 Art Curriculum

I really wish I hadn't bought this. Pages and pages of very dense text, no diagrams, pictures or examples. It says very vague things along the lines of; gather the students together and demonstrate how to build up tone. I mostly bought this because I need to teach a unit on architecture and I've never taught it before. It seemed more sensible to buy the bundle which was about twice as expensive but contained many units of work. Really wish I hadn't!!! The first lesson on architecture basically says: Show students lots of examples of local, western and non western architecture. Show the students how to draw architecture. Ask them to explore their ideas. No hints about how to do that or what you can expect the children to be able to achieve. I was also very disappointed with assessment ideas which basically say look at the work and assess use of whatever you have been teaching. I was very suspicious that there were no examples of the planning in the bits they show you before you buy but I'm really desperate for help teaching about architecture so I decided to risk it as it says the author is an experienced head of department. But this is basically a record of what was taught which I'm sure they did well and it worked for the students but as a helpful planning document for someone else I found it almost entirely useless.
