A high-quality resource to support Key Stage 2 Design & Technology. Pupils will research and develop design criteria to create their own food packaging. Using M&S Archive sources as inspiration, they will design and make a box using a net pattern. Fun, creative activities provide cross-curricula links to speaking and listening and persuasive writing.

This resource includes;

  • a lesson plan and Teacher’s Notes providing guidance for all activities
  • editable PowerPoint classroom slides
  • bespoke short films
  • editable worksheets
  • an image pack

Pupils will look at food packaging from the Archive collection and think about how different elements have been used in design. After gathering and testing ideas on their own mood board, pupils will design their own food packaging. They will then evaluate their own work and conduct a peer review identifying elements they like in other’s designs.

The resource also includes a brief introduction to the M&S Archive, explaining the function and purpose of an archive.
