This lesson is designed to practice building tone with colour using shades and tints, whilst understanding the difference between observational drawing and stylised drawing. Students will draw flowers from observation and then work with oil pastel to build tone using one colour, black and white, working on black paper.
The lesson consists of: a 'hook' or starter; objectives; a demonstration of stylised drawing in comparison to observed drawing; step by step instruction sheets with differentiated learning outcomes and a plenary. Printable resource sheets are at the end of the powerpoint. All you will need are the flowers.
