This French lesson focuses on the skill of listening and the theme of la protection de l’environnement. I have used it with groups of GCSE French learners, as well as private students, both as an introduction into the topic, as well as for revision. However, the activities, audio and transcript are perfect for any student studying the topic in some detail. It contains an MP3 audio file, a transcript, as well as six activities to exploit the theme.
The MP3 audio file contains information about:
- why the protection of the environment is important
- how the environmental protection issues have developed
- France’s role in protecting the world
- how the speaker aims to protect the environment
The audio is read by a native French speaker, at a medium speed and includes the basic elements to cover this important social issue. It includes a fantastic range of higher level vocabulary on environmental issues in French, as well as key phrases, ideal for intermediate and upper-intermediate French learners, including students in Year 10 and Year 11 (KS4) who are studying the French language.
La protection de l’environnement - (2 minutes and 19 seconds) audio with a native female speaker and transcript available, along with six activities to exploit the text and practise spontaneous speaking/writing thereafter! Can also be used as a reading activity for a cover lesson.
It could be used as a revision lesson, but also as an introduction into the topic of the environment.
