This is an introduction to Food Choice and Health for teenagers and adults with special educational needs. It is a full course and includes student worksheets

These worksheets are designed to cover the following learning outcomes:

  1. Sort familiar foods according to food groups eg. fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, diary.
  2. Describe typical food and drinks associated with a well balanced diet
  3. List common consequences of of a good diet eg. healthy heart, strong bones, clear skin, dental health
  4. Participate in the preparation of healthy meals
  5. Identify common safe practises associated with food preparation and storage
  6. Demonstrate appropriate food hygiene and safety practices
