Math Sticks Challenge

Presentation designed for use as an enjoyable starter or plenary in upper KS2 or lower KS3. Based on traditional “matchstick “ puzzles, pupils are given a task which requires them to think creatively about position and shape. Many students find the tasks easier with pen and paper but some students enjoy the challenge of abstract mental imaging. Focus is provided by an embedded 1 minute timer and navigation through the presentation is by clicking on appropriate icons clearly shown. The whole presentation contains 47 slides and 15 challenges of varying degrees of difficulty.
