MATHS - 3D SOLIDS - 3D DICE PUZZLE - BUILD A DICE FROM 9 CUBOIDS (NETS SUPPLIED)

A SURPRISING TRICKY PUZZLE FOR STUDENTS TO BUILD.
Definitely useful for construction skills as well as logical thinking.

SOLUTION INCLUDED as well as a 3D view of a completed dice(the puzzle is still not easy if you show them this, on say, a SLIDE.

1. Print a set of the nine different cuboid nets.

2. Construct cuboids

3. Use the constructed cuboids to to construct the dice.
   The usual rules apply i.e. opposite sides add up to 7, so 6 opposite 1 etc

   There are 8 variations of dice colour/spot colour. The red /yellow one is ready to print but to save ink just use the white with black spots version or perhaps the outline version and they could colour in the spots with one of theie choice.

   Another step to a solution would be to use the set of completely blank cuboid nets on which the students could draw on the spots , construct a blank dice, take it apart while noting where the various pieces go.
