A grade 7 at G.C.S.E. (Level 2), can be achieved with skills deemed non-essential in the A Level course. Or it could be that skills were forgotten. Due to Maths being hierarchical in nature, the learning process becomes ever more challenging if the lower levels of understanding have gaps. You don’t want to limit the outcomes of the students by discovering their gaps too late.

Developed over a number of years as head of Key stage 5 Mathematics; The questions result from in-depth analysis and action research in order to find the correct set of core skills that were missing and causing concerns for students all the way to the examination.
