These 9 differentiated worksheets are designed to help Year 3 and Year 4 pupils learn more about and practise adding 2 3-digit numbers together. The exercises are suitable for all abilities and will help children learn or practise the hundreds, tens and ones/units method.

The method is illustrated in the first example, by breaking down the numbers into hundreds, tens and ones/units in order to work out the answers.

The first 2 worksheets focus on using the method to add, where the tens do not cross 100. The next 2 worksheets use tens that cross 100 and the last 2 worksheets focus on adding tens that cross 100 and also hundreds that cross 1000.
