Pupils arranged in groups of 4 take it turns to be showdown captain and select the top card from a pile of 16 question cards graded D and C from the centre of the table. Pupils, including the captain, then simultaneously answer each question within a time limit and then peer assess each other's work and coach each other if pupils are struggling. The showdown captain then changes for the next round/question and the time limit and process starts again.

Good buzzing activity - you mentioned mark scheme in the first slide. There was no mark scheme accompanied with the powerpoint. I got the captains to create the mark scheme with their groups.
