Money - Functional Skills Maths - Entry Level 2

These resources have been designed for students working towards Functional Skills Maths qualifications at Entry Level 2. It contains an age-appropriate, 150-slide PowerPoint lesson and a 45-page workbook on Outcome 12: Calculate money with pence up to one pound and in whole pounds of multiple items and write with the correct symbols (£ or p).

These resources will help pupils achieve these learning outcomes:

recognise coins and notes and know their value
understand that different coins can have the same value
count money in pence, pounds and pounds and pence
convert from pence to pounds and pence and vice versa
select the correct coins to pay for items

Workbook

The 45-page workbook contains nine information pages, thirty-three worksheets (with answers), two progress checks and a certificate of achievement. It is available in PDF and an editable PowerPoint version to enable editing of the resource. It can be used for classwork, homework, revision or as an independent learning pack.

PowerPoint Lesson

Many opportunities are provided within the PowerPoint for pupils to develop their knowledge and understanding of money. The PowerPoint contains links to three short videos on money and money exam questions. It is ideal for introducing the money component of the Entry Level 2 specification and for revision purposes.
