This was a worksheet created jointly with another maths teacher/mastery specialist. We were both in Shanghai and given the task of teaching a grade 8 class (year 9 students) this topic. We aimed to move students from multiplying and dividing fractions (no algebra) to questions with algebra but also to include ‘open ended’ style questions and questions that linked maths concepts together (connections with simultaneous equations and area and volume). We used Craig Barton’s ‘Examples’ then ‘Try It Questions’ to introduce each style of question and teach the concepts.

This is a good set of questions with clear progression. Do you have the parts that say "listen to the example" available?
