A fun way to help pupils learn about the musical elements.

There are 12 playing cards and 2 title cards that explain the colour code.

How to play -

There must be at least two teams and at least two people in each team.

Someone (teacher, team mate, opposing team) chooses a category and you must describe the word on each card in that category. E.g. If timbre is the category and ‘violin’ was the word, you could describe it as ‘a high pitched string instrument’ and hope that your team mates get the right answer.

You are not allowed to say the word on the card.

After 30 / 60 seconds (however long you allow for each round) add up the amount of correct answers and keep score to see which team wins at the end of the game.

Suitable for Key Stage 3 or GCSE students.
