Narrative and Descriptive Writing AQA Scheme

This is a scheme of work aiming to teach skills needed for the new AQA specification narrative and descriptive writing section of language paper one.

There are six weeks worth of lessons over a 278 slide PowerPoint Presentation, including all resources, worksheets and homework suggestions.

The schemes runs through:
• Introduction to Creative and Narrative Writing
• Writing in different perspectives
• Using tenses
• Creative effective dialogue
• Descriptive Writing
• Creating effective characters
• Writing an opening to a story

There are also many spelling, punctuation and grammar activities throughout the lessons to help improve common errors.
The scheme uses contemporary texts and movies as inspiration for creative writing and is aimed at key stage 4, from year 9 upwards. It is especially designed to engage boys in creative writing but works equally well with girls.
