Attached in this bundle are:

Rock Photos 19 HD images of the small rock in its natural environment (e.g. a lump of coal in the foreground with a large coal pit in the background) so children can understand where the rock is sourced from.

Rock Name Display Same as above, but with names on… these can be printed and laminated for a very modern science display on rocks. I also printed these ‘16 to a page’ and the pupils stuck them in their books under the correct rock type heading.

List of Rocks in the resource this could be used as a sheet and children could try to affix the label to the photo.

Rocks Quiz (with separate answer sheet) I displayed this on the board and children wrote their answers in the book and self-assessed with the answer sheet provided.

Simple Rock Lesson Plan that you could use the photos with An editable plan for a main lesson using the resources attached.

20 Practical and Creative lessons to do with rocks in the future These are great for future lessons on rocks… it includes doing a rock walk, painting rocks etc.

Rock Types Explained i.e. metamorphic, sedimentary and igneous etc. This helps teachers and pupils with properties of the main three rock types.

I created this resource as I could not find good any quality photos of the rock and in their natural environment online! But, if you feel I missed a rock please comment and I can add it to the resource.
