After watching a clip from Tony Robinson's Crime & Punishment series [available on YouTube] on the impact of the Norman Invasion on crime & punishment, students complete a 'speed dating' exercise using either the Pearson Crime & Punishment textbook or the information included on the PowerPoint slides. Students are then required to think about why the Normans needed to increase their authority, before attempting a 12 mark 'explain' question. To support the students with the exam question there is a model answer and success criteria.
