introductory lessons- aiming for KS3 class reader. Aim for students to be able to analyse the presentation of a character in a short extract. So plenty of opportunities to edit and suit different analysis tasks.

This lesson deals with the character of Mrs Coulter- students are asked to form first impressions of this character and why- they are continually asked to refer to lyra’s character and her personality through the next sections. Another task included here to to write a letter as Lyra explaining why you want to run away.
