Chapter 14 unit from the OCR Biology A A-Level all about hormonal communication.
The unit was planned with the intention of carrying out flipped learning whereby students do pre-reading on the topic prior to the lesson so that we can consolidate that learning with activities/exam questions during the lesson.
Including:
- 14.1 Hormonal communication
- 14.2 Structure and function of the pancreas
- 14.3 Regulation of blood glucose concentration
- 14.4 Diabetes and its control
- 14.5 Coordinated responses
- 14.6 Controlling heart rate

These resources have saved my sanity! New to teaching A level and these have been a great resource. All lessons include retrieval practice (with answers) and not just at the beginning of the lessons but throughout. It also includes exam questions and some effective general activities, such as card sorts, keyword match ups and crosswords, that would take up way too much of my time. There is a wider reading activity which is great too, however the link doesn't work. Websites always update so no fault of Mr Foster. I will find a new paper. These lessons have been thoroughly thought out and you can see how much time has gone into them. Thank you so much! I will be downloading your other resources as the year goes on.
