OCR Biology The liver and homeostasis

This is a complete lesson covering sections 5.1.1 bi and ii of the OCR Biology specification- the role of the liver in homeostasis. It goes through the structure and function of the liver including images to demonstrate the histology of the liver. It then looks at the individual roles of the liver including deamination and detoxification. The lesson ends with looking at the effects of alcohol on the liver and considering the various stages of liver failure

The lesson includes a starter, full notes, various student led activities and a differentiated summary at the end.
