Unit of work for the novel “Once” by Morris Gleitzman.
Due to the nature of the book and the short chapters the unit is designed for the chapters to be read in class. There are guides for each chapter to help the pupils focus on what is happening.
Each Powerpoint focuses on a different chapter and task. Tasks include:
- Storyboarding
- Understanding and Inference Questions
- Studying character
- Studying theme
- Descriptive Writing
- Creating tension
There are also resources on pupils doing a group task on the chapters and resources to help write a critical essay on the main character, Felix.
