The first lesson initially recaps on structural and geometrical isomerism from AS Level.
The lesson progresses on to a optical isomers as a second type of stereoisomerism.
Students use molymods and a mirror to work out which molecules do or don't exist as optical isomers and why.
Further consolidation of the concepts follows with some practice naming compounds.

The second lesson reviews the identification of chiral carbons in different molecules then moves on to the use of plane polarised light to distinguish between optical isomers. There are some isomer summary questions at the end of the lesson.
