This extract from Oscar Wilde’s short story ‘The Fisherman and his Soul’ provides comprehension activities along with language and structure analysis tasks to practice skills at KS3 leading into skills necessary for GCSE. The text is written in a mythological / fable style enabling students to explore this genre.

There is also a writing activity which uses the text as a springboard into using a picture stimulus to write imaginatively.

The lesson is suitable for any exam board.
