A CONCISE UNIT of 2-3 lessons providing an in-depth exploration of Ozymandias by Percy Shelley*. Including engaging teaching of content, writer's methods and an exploration of the influence of the poet's context. This lesson provides group opportunities guiding pupils development of AO1, AO2 and AO3 literature, and specifically, poetry skills as described above. Including an animated, complete annotation of the poem, poem response activities (differentiated), engaging video clips and discussion points. Additionally, suggested further development opportunities for indepedent engagement with the poem, context and the issues and ideas dealt with are in included.

ADDITION WRITING EXTENSION to embed pupils understanding of the poems content whilst providing opportunities to develop their GCSE WRITING skills, as well as, developing vocabulary and literacy skills which will help pupils express their interpretations when writing about literature analytically.
