Pass the ball around the ring: A rhythmic game song for the Early Years.

Musicbuds offers an exceptional range of original and well-crafted resources underpinning common musical objectives whilst focused on prominent EYFS themes. Aimed at all Early Years’ practitioners from class teachers, music specialists, teaching assistants, playgroup leaders to EAL and SEND support teachers.

This song was written to encourage children to work as a team and concentrate for extended periods of time so that the flow of the ball is never interrupted. The anticipatory part at the end of the tune (when children don’t know how many times they are going to be asked to pass the ball on!) makes it fun. The strong pulse encourages young learners to pass the ball in time to the music.

Can be used as a stand-alone game song; to establish the concept of pulse in music; as part of Circle Time; to enhance physical development such as crossing the midline or as Song 2 in Pack 2 of our 30-minute music and movement session.
