“SWISH”!

Inside this PACKAGE are 25 “SLAM DUNKING GOOD” basketball games, designed for students with a wide range of abilities and ages, from 2nd Grade through 10th Grade. These BASKETBALL GAMES are ideal for large or medium sized groups, inside a gym or at any play area that has a hard surface. Some of the “shooting” games require traditional basketball goals but several passing and team games necessitate only some boundaries markers and a few basketballs.

These games can be used by PE TEACHERS as an extension of their basketball unit (after the basic skills have been taught) or it can be utilized by a CLASSROOM TEACHER as an organized RECESS GAME ACTIVITIES to keep students active and focused during their play time. In addition, many of the basketball games make great large-group activities for school-wide events such as FIELD DAY or for a class or grade-level REWARD DAY sometime during the school year.

These basketball games involve many skills and concepts that relate directly to traditional basketball such as ball handling, dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding, agility, accuracy, coordination, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Some of the games are “breakout” games (small groups move to different areas of a gym to play) and others are large group, team games which require more space (however players can be active on the sidelines and can rotate in short shifts to play).

The Basketball Games include: A) Ball Handling and Dribbling- 1. Basketball Flag Tag, 2. Dribble Knockout, 3. Globetrotters, 4. King’s Court Dribble, 5. Knock it Down, Pick it up, 6. LeBron Says, 7.
