This booklet acts as a scheme of work that is aimed to introduce pupils to basic metal working as well as working within a linear design process. We encourage that you use iteration in the designing stage of this alongside cardboard models to ensure that you are meeting the expectations of the GCSE exams board. I have taught this project to good results and making something that is of a professional standard. There are kits available from many craft shops but i found that i could use a lot of the things that we already had available in the department. The pewter is suitable for being melted down many times over so waste is minimal.
