A lesson plan (including LO. To solve problems involving fractions, success criteria and differentiated activities), presentation and 3 differentiated worksheets to compliment the lesson are included. Some of the resources have been sourced from other teaching websites which are mentioned in the lesson plan but could be made using paper plates/your own cut out pizzas.

The lesson is aimed at Year 3/4.

The lesson is based on different problems involving fractions:
The LA have to match 5 mixed up pizzas to the correct labels to show the fraction they have been sliced into, then have a challenge to compare who ate the most using the pizza slices.
The MA group have two pizza boxes and a range of pizzas sliced into different fractions. Children have to compare different amounts of pizzas to see who ate more (Child A ate 3/6 and Child B ate 4/10 - who ate the most?) .
The HA have a problem to solve which involves them working as a team, and using props such as paper plates, whiteboards, pizza templates etc.
