The resource contains six quotes from famous pieces of literature. The idea of the exercise is to encourage students to focus on selecting the most significant examples of language usage and devices from within the quote, despite not seeing the quotes previously. The quotes are surrounded by plenty of the blank space to encourage annotation and formation of the student’s ideas. This exercise should take around 20-25 if done in depth, or would make for an ideal piece of homework to be brought in and discussed with the rest of the class.
