This unit is a series of six lessons and all resources for the unit “What can we learn from sacred books?" These lessons are based on RE planning for Key Stage 1.

Each lesson starts with a sticky knowledge retrieval quiz and vocabulary activity.
Activities include a story building game; favourite book drawing task; Lost Sheep parable activities; rules and Jesus as a teacher activity; what would Jesus do? activity; learning about the Qur’an, Torah and Bible as holy books; Hebrew letter writing task; rules for how to treat a special book activity; story of Moses drama; Moses story retelling; trust game linked to Prophet Muhammad; Muhammad and the Black Stone story dilemma; reading of Muhammad and the Crying Camel; musical reading of Jonah and the Whale; Jonah emotions group task; and Tashlich paper boat activity.

Lessons include videos, group/partner discussion, group tasks, individual tasks and making links to children’s own lives. All resources are included, and there is a printing requirement list for the whole unit. Please note - the SMART and PowerPoint contain the same content, but you need Notebook software to open SMART.
