This RE SMART and PowerPoint is a series of six lessons and all resources based on planning for the unit “What is Humanism” This unit is aimed at Year 2.

Each lesson starts with a sticky knowledge retrieval quiz and vocabulary activity.
Activities include a focus on a boy from a family of Humanists; amazing human achievements; what makes you special?; discussion about the Happy Human symbol; chatty mat activity on happiness; Humanist ingredients for happiness; happiness group discussion; reading of happiness poem; happiness drawing task; Golden Rule scenarios; are humans more important than animals debate; promises to a new-born baby group task; and a final discussion of the big question What is Humanism?

Lessons include videos, group/partner discussion, group tasks, individual tasks and making links to children’s own lives. All resources are included, and there is a printing requirement list for the whole unit.
