This unit is a series of six lessons and all resources for the UC Gospel Unit “What is the Good News Jesus brings?” These lessons are based on UC CORE LEARNING planning.
Each lesson starts with a sticky knowledge retrieval quiz and vocabulary activity.
Activities include drama based on Roman soldiers and tax collector; group activity naming twelve world-changers; interactive Bible story reading of Matthew; study of Jesus’ teachings on forgiveness; emotion heart drawing task; debate around importance of friendship, forgiveness and peace; poster activity; study of the Christian charity St George’s Crypt; a look at the different kinds of peace; prayer study; exploring school for peaceful places; Church exploration linked to peace; and a three line prayer writing activity.
Lessons include videos, group/partner discussion, group tasks, individual tasks and making links to children’s own lives. All resources are included, and there is a printing requirement list for the whole unit. Please note - the SMART and PowerPoint contain the same content, but you need Notebook software to open SMART.
