This is a set of individual reading records that can be used by Year 2 teachers or support staff throughout the year to build up a bank of evidence to prove their judgements against the Year 2 Teacher Assessment Framework (TAF) for Reading.
This resource has been accepted as evidence in previous Year 2 external moderation
These reading records cover Pre-key stage 3 to Greater Depth.
They have been written and organised to directly link to the TAF statements.
e.g.
Pre-key stage 3:
Have they read the sounds for 20+ graphemes YES / NO
Highlight any sounds they needed support with.
Have they read accurately by blending the sounds in words with 2 or 3 known graphemes?
Record words read incorrectly / unable to read .
Expected standard:
Have they read accurately most words of two or more syllables? YES / NO. Record words below.
Have they accurately read most words containing common suffixes such as –ment, -ness, -ful, -less, -ly? YES / NO. Record words below. Etc.
