An example of the short term planner I will be using in my Reception class from Sept 2012. The spontaneous planning section will be hand written as the week goes on. Everything else will be planned in advance (phonics/whole class/focus activties). LO = Learning objective and these are based on the DMs which I have numbered on a grid. Phonics codes: P= practise/ B =Blending / S= segmenting/ A= Apply I haven't put in the LOs for all Focus activities on this example. I enlarge the document to A3.

hi thanks for this its great. i have just moved from nursery to reception and am interested to know how you organise your day. in nursery we did one focused activity with each smalll group throughout the day and you seem to do the same in reception. at the moment our reception class has one group each day doing a maths, writing/reading task and it doesn't seeem to flow as well. would you be willing to share your days plan/set up?
