This lesson was prepared for year 8s on renewable energy.

Lesson objectives are:
- to know the advantages and disadvantages of different types of renewable energy
- to decide what type of renewable energy would be best for Britain

Students have to play the board game to find out the positives and negatives of different types of renewable energy, starting on the 'start here to save the planet icon' and working their way round the board. The winner is the first person to get to the 'happy world' in the middle of the board. If they land on a recycling sign, they pick up a card - they then have to place the card on the energy table (make sure it's blown up to A3), in either the positive or negative column. Fossil fuel cards go at the bottom.

At the end of the game (lasts approx. 25mins) they have to work together to rate each type of renewable energy out of 10. They then use this information to complete the 'government report' saying which type/s of renewable energy they would choose for Britain.

Board information can be easily adapted, and game instructions are included. Students loved it!
