The aim of this unit is to explore the non-performing roles within the performing arts industry. Students will have the opportunity to conduct research into a variety of non-performing roles, as well as developing their design skills through creative task. The unit explores the non-performance roles through an exploration of pantomime, however, this can be adapted to suit any performance genre.

This unit has been specifically designed to enable effective remote learning, however, it can also be used for classroom based theory and design lessons.

This unit of work is aimed at KS3, but due to the nature of the unit exploring roles and responsibilities within the industry, it can easily be adapted and delivered to KS4 students studying for qualifications such as BTEC Performing Arts Tech Award and AQA Technical Award in Performing Arts. Elements of this scheme could also be used in cross-curricular careers lessons for roles in the Performing Arts Industry.
