About us:
We are two experienced teachers: a Science teacher, and an English teacher who also has many years of experience in SEN and Behaviour Support Services. We have worked for many years in both primary and secondary schools, mainly in London (UK). Our shared belief in the importance of literacy in the teaching of Science, inspired by the work of M.A.K Halliday, J.R. Martin and their colleagues, led to our collaboration on the production of these resources. We have tried and tested the worksheets in primary classes at Key Stage 2; in Science lessons for Yr. 7; and also in Inclusion Centres in secondary schools. The success of the materials was evident, so we have decided to extend the scope and depth of the resources, and their outreach. We have divided the resources into sections, and provided a means for you to navigate, so that you can easily move between each section to view the different versions, and choose the most appropropriate worksheets.

About the Content (91 worksheets):
Differentiation: We have provided different ‘versions’ for all the activities. This is central to our view that an individual worksheet in itself does not guarantee differentiation – it is your choice of worksheet/s which will facilitate differentiation by task, as well as outcome. With the different versions of texts and DARTs’ activities we have provided, you are able to select the resources that are most appropriate for the students in your class: for the whole class; for group work; for individual students who require extra support; and for those who will benefit from more challenging texts. We have also provided a brief explanation for the activities at the beginning of each section.

We are confident that our resources will supplement the work that you are already doing, and really hope that they will be helpful to you in supporting your teaching of Science.
