This English writing unit covers the first scene of Macbeth and introduces the play to KS2 classes. They explore the plot and create a soundscape and setting full of atmosphere to get them ready for the rest of the play.
They are encouraged to explore and develop vocabulary, as well as use this to create powerful atmosphere for their reader.
Included is a lesson plan, resources and three differentiated models for reference and a powerpoint to teach from.
There are additional units that continue to explore the play if you are interested!
Having taught this unit several times, it always provides a good basis for the play,and more drama can easily be incorporated if the teacher wishes.
There is opportunity for editing and assessment too.
