If you are searching for a series of lockdown lessons that require absolutely no effort to deliver at all, then look no further!
This is the first lesson in an exciting Detective unit for Key Stage 3 - focusing specifically on Arthur Conan Doyle’s ‘The Speckled Band’. I created this unit specifically for last lockdown and my Year 7 pupils loved it! It can be delivered and adapted for live or independent online lessons - the lesson is a PowerPoint presentation, so very easy to deliver and to follow!
This first lesson involves a series of short ‘chunked’ tasks - perfect for keeping attention:

  1. Solving a short mystery
  2. Mind mapping the qualities of a detective
  3. Listing the features of a detective story
  4. Reading and analysing the beginning of ‘The Speckled band’ - meeting Helen Stoner
  5. Extension ideas for independent and further research.

This a brilliant lesson - can't wait to use it. Thank you! Will you be uploading more? (I'd happily pay for the whole scheme of work if you have it:)
