Let's face it...we as teachers refrain from using the textbook, but sometimes it's inevitable for homework assignments, research, etc.!
It is crucial for students, especially those in the middle grades, to learn how to navigate their Social Studies textbooks. These skills are transferable to any subject!
This student-centered research activity allows students to answer questions based on the sections of their Social Studies textbook.
They will identify and research:
• Title of Book
• Author(s)
• Table of Contents
• Units/Chapters
• Index
This activity can adhere to any textbook you use in your classroom!
