Here is a codebreaker I wrote for my Year 11s. It requires them to be able to solve a quadratic equation using factorisation and the formula. It also includes some work on completing the square and finding the minimum point.
If solved correctly, it (hopefully!) gives the joke: "I went to an instructor to learn how to do the splits. She said to me 'are you flexible?' I said 'well I can't do Tuesdays.'
