Speaking and Listening - Story, Rhyme and Non Fiction

This Planning Resource pack encourages Speaking and Listening through
discussion, rhyme, story, non - ficiton, and a range of activities.
It is suitable for EYFS and KS1.
Children can offer explanations for why things might (or do) happen, making use of recently introduced vocabulary from stories, non-fiction, and rhymes.

The first page is a comprehensive planning overview with 7 lessons, objectives, activities, resources included and assessment ideas.

Activities include non – fiction – farm animals; Story sequencing, Rhymes, Celebrating Christmas and Understanding change.

The materials include worksheets and word lists and relevant suggestions for books such as ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ (Eric Carle) for sequencing and ‘If you give a mouse a cookie’ (Laura Numeroff) for introducing cause and effect.

There are 11 worksheets to accompany your planning.
