Spelling Overview Whole School Progression

Check out my progressive spelling overview and teach spellings consistently across your school by focusing on the same sound each week.

This progressive overview will boost pupil’s attainment as they will be overlearning and recapping sounds every year while extending their vocabulary and challenging themselves with differentiated spelling lists.

Ready to distribute spellings to teach however you feel appropriate for your school.

Suggestion:
Monday - Identify sound (there will be different patterns and spellings for these phonemes - can they all be spotted?)
Tuesday - Sound buttons
Wednesday - Sorting activity (putting each word under the correct grapheme_
Thursday - Test your partner on these words
Friday - Dictation of 5/10 of these words.

Lessons could be complete in books or whiteboards!
