INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Set up the stations and let the students start wherever they want. Print and hang the passages.
  2. Students will move around the classroom visiting the eight stations, reading short passages, finding text evidence, and answering 8 questions.
  3. For each question, they must record the number of the passage where they found the information and use the decoder included to identify the correct mystery letter corresponding to the right answer.
  4. After students record their answers on the answer sheet provided, they will use the letters to unscramble a mystery word and reveal an 8-digit code (corresponding to the right passage numbers). Students need to get the 8-digit code and mystery word correct to complete this activity! If they only get one correct, please tell them to try again. Do not indicate which question is wrong.
